For a girl who grew up in Southern California, the only country music scene Violet Delancey saw were the clubs and recording studios where artists such as Gram Parsons carved out their own brand of country music during the 1970s. But it did not inspire her.
Instead she moved to London to study mythology as a graduate student. But then Delancey switched gears and launched her songwriting career. Now she is a Nashville Americana artist set to play at 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at the Crimson Moon.
Tickets are $11 advance and $14 the day of show at 24 N. Park St. in downtown Dahlonega.
Delancey began writing her own music during her time abroad, first living halfway across the world, and later as a new resident of Nashville, Tenn. She moved to Nashville in late 2013, drawn to the same city that energized many of her favorite artists.
She released her the album in 2016 and performed them in the capital of country music.
