Lightwire Theater alters fable for more modern era and feel

Hans Christian Andersen’s fable of “The Ugly Duckling” is being revamped for a more modern theatrical experience.

The Lightwire Theater will bring the classic tale to the stage with a cutting-edge blend of puppetry, technology and dance. The theater troupe also will use music ranging from classical to pop.

Performances of “The Ugly Duckling” will be from 7-9 p.m. Friday, March 3, and Saturday, March 4, at the Ritz Theatre, 139 Doyle St., in Toccoa.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger. Ticket are available at the door.
