Holly Theater adapts classic Dickens tale with a different view
Twas the Night Before A Christmas Carol set for Dec. 2-18
STAGE-THEATER

A reinvention of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” will hit the Holly Theater stage with “‘Twas the Night Before A Christmas Carol.”

In the play, Dickens has promised his children that on Christmas Day, the family will act out his first-ever Christmas story. However, Dickens has two problems: It is Christmas Eve and he has writer’s block.

His crusty British butler and witty Irish nanny spring into action. The duo comically steal bits of each other’s past to help their employer write “A Christmas Carol.”

In Act II, the family and staff perform a one-act adaptation of the classic Christmas story.

Showtimes are 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays Dec. 2-4, 9-11 and 16-18. All performance will be at 69 W. Main St. in downtown Dahlonega.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $12 for students.
