Heart in Hand Quilt Guilds pieces hang in Bowen Center for the Arts

In all colors, shapes, sizes and designs, more than 100 quilts are hanging from the walls and ceiling at the Bowen Center for the Arts as part of the Heart in Hand Quilt exhibit.

The show also features the smallest quilts ever seen or made. And visitors to 334 Ga. 9 N in Dawsonville may vote on their favorites, designed by 31 members of the Heart in Hand Quilt Guild.

Quilters participating in this year’s show are: Ann Adams, Carol Corner, Cheryl Lorence, Dianne Johnson, Dianne Summers, Eileen Buchner, Ellen Masters, Jackie Somerville, Joan Peterson, Lynn Flanders, Margi O’Keeffe, Pam Haffner, Pat Griffith, Patricia Bourne, Renetta Dorman and Sandra Curle, all of Dawsonville; Barbara Venable, Deborah Raptis, Jan Fambrough, Jane B. Broaddus and Regina Johnson, all of Dahlonega; Elizabeth D. Smith, Harriet Briscoe and Joan Sievenpiper, all of Gainesville; Barbara Bramble, Kay Stanley and Sue Leonard, all of Big Canoe; Dot Edmunds, Shannon Morgan and Sylvia LaFalce, all of Cumming; and Mary Kitchen of Gray.

The free exhibit will remain on display until Oct. 28 at the arts center between Lanier Tech and Dawson Junior High School.

For this year’s Raffle Quilt, more than 45 members of the guild produced a queen size work of art with “Autumn Mountains.”

Tickets are $1 per ticket or six for $5. They are on sale at The Bowen. Proceeds from the raffle go to The Bowen Center for the Arts.

Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday to Friday and noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.
