For Christians, “sharing the good news” means telling others about God and Jesus. But for 43 physicians, five mid-level providers and 39 dentists, Good News Clinics allows them to share their time and expertise to those who could not afford it.

Good News Clinics provides medical and dental care at no cost to the patient for uninsured residents of Hall County. However, running the facility costs money. To offset the expense, the charity raises money through a various events, including its upcoming 2014 Fundraising Dinner. All funds raised by the dinner will be used toward annual operating expenses.

The dinner is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, in the banquet hall at First Baptist Church, 751 Green St., in Gainesville.

During the meal, The Bluegrass Alliance, with volunteer dentist Dr. Johnny Martin on guitar, will entertain the crowd. And the Dr. Sam Poole Volunteer of the Year Award will be presented to an outstanding member.

A table for eight people including dinner costs $400. Two sponsorships also are available. Gold and silver sponsors may donate $2,500 or $1,000 respectively. Individual tickets are $50.
