If you want to go to the Super Bowl on Sunday but can't make it to Indiana, the Holly Theater in Dahlonega is offering the next best thing.

The Holly will play host to a Super Bowl party, complete with food, drinks and a 26-foot screen broadcasting the game and commercials.

Holly artistic director Foy Tootle said that this is the second year the theater has held a Super Bowl party, and that this year's turnout is expected to exceed last year's.

"It's a lot of fun. There was a good crowd last year, and both teams were pretty well represented," Tootle said. "There were a lot of cheers, a lot of boos and everyone had a good time."

Tootle, a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, said that he had a blast last year, even though his team lost. And though his team didn't get very far in the playoffs this season, he is happily pulling for the New York Giants.

"It's a good time for everyone. It's the next best thing to being able to go to the game," Tootle said.

"Some people come out for the atmosphere, some for the game and some just for the commercials. Everyone is welcome, and there should be something for everybody to enjoy."

The event is free to attend, with concessions sold and donations collected. Tootle said there will hot dogs and hamburgers along with beer, wine and sodas.

All proceeds will benefit the Holly Theater, though Tootle said there is no pressure to spend a lot of money.

"You can come in and just watch the game. Or you can watch the game, make a donation. Or, you can watch the game, make a donation and buy concessions, whatever you want to do," he said.

The grill will be hot at 5:30 p.m., and the game kicks off at 6:25. Tootle said the Holly can accommodate 310 people, and this party is first come, first served.

The Super Bowl party is free to attend, and everyone is welcome, including families.

The Holly Theater is located at 69 W. Main St. in Dahlonega. For more information, visit online.
