As the new year begins, Quinlan Visual Arts Center is offering a new round of art classes to start next week.

First up is Painting Inside and Out on four consecutive Wednesdays from Jan. 15 to Feb 5. The class will be from 10 a.m. to noon and cost $100 for members and $120 for nonmembers. All levels and mediums welcome.

Participants need to bring a set of brushes, acrylic paint and a palette.

The next class will be Wheel Throwing 101 from 6-8 p.m. Jan. 21 to Feb. 25. Cost is $120 for members and $145 for nonmembers.

Participants will learn wheel throwing basics and how to add clay appliques to pots for added dimension.
