‘James and the Giant Peach'

The classic children's tale "James and the Giant Peach" comes to Gainesville this month in a WonderQuest production.
A free stage tour of the production is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Brenau University's Pearce Auditorium, 500 Washington St. SE, Gainesville.
WonderQuest is the young audiences division of the Gainesville Theatre Alliance, a collaboration of Gainesville State College, Brenau University and theater professionals in North Georgia.
Director Gay Hammond will talk with visitors about the challenges of performing the popular classic. Repeat WonderQuest patrons will recognize her as the playwright who penned the script for last year's "The Briar Patch."
Scenic designer Celeste Morris and Guest Costume Designer Jeanie Crawford will discuss their research and inspiration for the visual elements of the play. Patrons at will be treated to a scene from the play.
"James and the Giant Peach" runs Sept. 30 through Oct. 8. Performance times can be found on the GTA website.
Ticket prices are $10-12 for adults and seniors (ages 65 and up) and $7-8 for students depending on seat location. Patrons can select and purchase seats on the website or by calling the GTA Box Office at 678-717-3624 from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. weekdays.
