Gainesville High School students will perform the silly, campy musical about climbing the corporate ladder in “How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying,” which was inspired by Shepherd Mead’s book.
The story centers on window washer J. Pierpont Finch, who has dreams of making it big in the business world. He then finds a book called “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.” He reads the book and applies its tactics to his life by getting a job at World Wide Wickets. He starts out as a mailroom clerk and then moves up the corporate ladder.
Frump, a co-worker left behind, tries to sabotage Finch as he gets higher and higher in the organization. But in the end, Finch is forced to make a few choices without the help of his book.
Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 27-29 at the high school at 830 Century Place in Gainesville.
