If you've never celebrated Christmas in Possum Trot on Buzzard Mountain, you should know that you've missed a white lightning-flavored, rockabilly good time.

Feeling ever so gracious, Jim Bob and Joe Bob have decided to bring "A Buzzard Mountain Christmas" to the Holly Theater in Dahlonega. The duo regularly appear in "The Mountain Music and Medicine Show" at the Holly and perform at events across the Southeast.

They describe their performance as, "Music, mayhem, and Santa, too — packed into a live, two-act radio show."

"A Buzzard Mountain Christmas" will deck the halls of the Holly, 69 West Main St. in Dahlonega, at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 22-23. Tickets are $15.

The performances are peppered with good-natured humor, filled with duet harmonies and held together with bluegrass tunes.

The Bob brothers may be better known as Lumpkin County residents Jim Bob White and Joe Bob Matteson. White is the chairman of the Bear on the Square Mountain Festival, a charter board member of the Georgia Pick and Bow Traditional Music School and an advisory board member of the Appalachian Studies Center at North Georgia College and State University.

Matteson is the vice president of the mountain festival, where he leads the master class workshops, and is also the co-producer of the Mountain Music show.

The setting for "A Buzzard Mountain Christmas" is the Possum Trot General Store and Post Office, where the Bob brothers, along with their friends and other kin, have gathered to spin a few yarns and enjoy some "good old-time, foot-stompin' music."

Besides the Bobs, the Christmas show will feature Sarrah Ellen McDonald and Tonia Conner of Barefoot Creek, Mick Kinney of The Georgia Crackers and Ann Whitley of The Rosin Sisters.

Ralph Taylor, the host of "The Chattahoochee Folk Hour Radio Show" on 89.1 WBCX and Three Arrows will also share the spotlight.

Attendees will also get to enjoy the fiddle playing of Maggie Mae of Pick & Bow fame and the fancy footwork of Ona Mae Grizzle.
