As many residents decorate their home with lights for Christmas, Elachee Nature Science Center is looking to the stars for a light show.
Guests to Elachee can learn about the starry skies on Winter Solstice Day. Activities will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, at 2125 Elachee Drive in Gainesville.
Activities include solar telescope viewings, star activities and constellation craft. The STARLAB will also conduct 30-minute programs starting at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 2 to 12. Elachee members may attend for free. The fee covers admission to all Winter Solstice Day activities and Elachee exhibits, including the live animal exhibit.
