Dig into gardening at annual expo
Master Gardeners host event in Gainesville

As buds begin bursting on trees, bushes and flowers this spring season, the Hall County Master Gardeners will host its annual Spring Garden Expo this weekend.

The two-day plant sale will be from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, April 4, and 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at Chicopee Woods Agricultural Center, 1855 Calvary Church Road, Gainesville.

Speakers will deliver two free presentations each day, and food vendors will provide refreshments.

Carts will be available to borrow to help carry your goodies. A holding area will allow shoppers to place their purchases in a secure area while they head back for more.

Last year, the Master Gardeners welcomed hundreds of eager shoppers. Regular expo visitors will recognize many returning vendors, who will offer various plants such as native plants. Many gardeners agree native plants are hardier and attract beneficial insects such as pollinators.

Admission is $2 per adult. Children are free, but pets have to stay home.

The Master Gardeners will follow up the spring event with a Fall Garden Expo on Sept. 26-27.
