A free family-friendly festival featuring live music, artisans, fireworks and a parade will march into a small town in North Hall County.
The 15th annual Clermont Days Festival will be from 4-10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17.
The festival will begin with vendors opening at 639 Main St. in Clermont followed by two bands. They are Sweet Tea and The Bluegrass Boys and The Asphalt Cowboys.
On Saturday, the festival will launch with the eighth annual North Hall Lions Cupcake Challenge 5-kilometer and 1-kilometer road races. The 1K and Fun Run starts at 7:30 a.m. with the 5K at 7:45 a.m. The race starts at W R Strickland & Sons Funeral Home at 260 Main St. and then goes through parts of historic Clermont.
The race costs $20 and $25 with registration at runsignup.com. There is a fee for the online processing.
Opening ceremonies will begin at 9 a.m. followed by a parade at 10:30 a.m. Music will be from noon to 9 p.m. at the site. Performers will include Tony Scott, Luke Latimer, The Chuck Nations Band, The Dirt Road Disciples, The Gasoline Brothers and Scott Brantley.
Other activities will include an old-fashioned cake walk, horseshoe throwing contest and antique car show. The special section for children will feature carnival activities such as giant hamster balls, swing rides, bungee jump and a miniature train.
Food and craft vendors will be available.
