Though St. Patrick’s Day falls on Friday, Braselton’s LifePath plans to celebrate with a parade Saturday, March 18.
LifePath, which connects businesses and neighborhoods along the Ga. 211 corridor, invites residents to meander the path in decorated golf carts, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, wagons and groups of walkers. The LifePath is paved multi-modal path funded through a self taxing district by the property owners in the Braselton Community Improvement District. The project was conceived to give residents a way to travel to retail and service locations without using an car.
The parade begins at 11 a.m. at Ace Hardware, 3740 Village Way in Braselton. It will travel the distance of the Braselton LifePath and end in the area of Jeffrey’s, Pinnacle Bank and 12Stone. A celebratory party will be held there, and prizes will be awarded.
Organizers also are seeking teams to participate in the inaugural Paddy’s Day PathQuest. The race takes teams through several business areas located along the LifePath. Players will earn points by answering questions, solving puzzles and completing challenges. PathQuest will immediately follow the parade.
Quest forms are available for pickup at the parade ending location. The team returning before 2 p.m. with the most points scored wins a “pot of gold” or a prize package. Teams may earn points before the quest begins by preregistering or entering the PathParade.
In addition, children may enjoy free inflatables and an obstacle course in the 12 Stone Church, Pinnacle Bank and Jeffrey’s area.
Businesses and restaurants are offering sales, promotions and door prizes. Parking is available at 12Stone Church.
