The 2016 Shine Pedalers Metric will begin at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, July 30, at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame in Dawsonville. It offers two routes through the hills of Dawson County: the 62-mile Metric Century with a climb up Burnt Mountain or the Half Metric over 31 miles. For the century ride, experienced riders may follow the yellow arrow. For the half metric, all levels of cyclists should follow the green arrows.

Both options wind through the scenic countryside of Dawson County and have plenty of rolling hills and beautiful scenery to keep riders interested. And helmets are required in the ride.

Five well-placed rest stops will be along the route with snacks, drinks and support for cyclists. Complimentary cooling towels will be offered at the end of the ride.

The event also will include a complimentary continental breakfast, coffee and snacks. A complimentary lunch will be at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame.
