The fictional life of “Harry Potter” introduced readers to the wizarding world. Now, astronomers are using the books and movies to explain the stars since many of the characters names are the names of stars in the sky.
“The Secret Stars of Harry Potter” program is at 8 p.m. Fridays at the Coleman Planetarium on the University of North Georgia’s Dahlonega campus. The show is free but seating is limited. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the series will last until the end of February.
The Observatory will be open after the show, weather permitting, to view the real stars.
