Soldiers, sword fights, the Huns and a dragon all culminate around the ancient tale of a young Chinese girl named Mulan.

Defying the village matchmaker, Mulan takes up arms and disguises as a boy to spare her father from having to serve in the army. The Huns have invaded, and it is up to the misfit Mulan and her mischievous sidekick Mushu to save the emperor.

The Holly Theater will bring this tale to the stage in "Mulan Jr."

Adapted from Disney’s animated film, "Mulan Jr." will be performed at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, at 69 W. Main St. in Dahlonega.
