Some musicians jam with friends in their garages, basements or backyards for the love of music.

Clermont residents have decided to take it one step further. Instead of entertaining themselves, musicians will jam in public and entertain their fellow neighbors.

The Pickin’ in the Park will be from 7-10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at 639 Main St., in Clermont. The free, family-friendly outdoor concert will feature a variety of performers at the park across from Concord Baptist Church.

Scheduled performers will play from 7-9 p.m. then audience members may join in with their own instruments from 9-10 p.m.

Music lovers are encouraged to bring a picnic, lawn chairs and friends for the night of musical entertainment.
