3 art exhibits adorn walls at Brenau
College students, staff; Georgia Art League; and Nancy Hellebrand to share their creativity

For the next three months, three galleries at Brenau University in Gainesville will feature three varied art exhibitions.

In the Sellars Gallery lobby in the Simmons Visual Arts Center is the exhibition “Printmaking at Brenau.” It showcases works created through various printmaking process by Brenau University students, faculty and alumnae.

The exhibit is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through March 19 at 200 Boulevard in Gainesville.

In the Presidents Gallery in the same center, the exhibit “Nostalgia “ will open Thursday, Feb. 9, with a reception from 5:30-7 p.m. It features works by members of the Georgia Art League, an active art group in the Gainesville with almost 200 members.

The exhibit is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. by appointment only through March 9 at 200 Boulevard in Gainesville.

In the Leo Castelli Gallery in the John S. Burd Center, the exhibit “Mom: Writing With Alzheimer’s” may be viewed by appointment only until April 20.

The exhibit features photographs of pages from a journal written by a woman with Alzheimer’s disease. One can follow the drift of her attention, feel the pain of her isolation and experience the beauty that leads to empathy for more than a single individual.

A reception for the artist Nancy Hellebrand will be from 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday, March 9, at 200 Boulevard in Gainesville.

All exhibits are free and open to the public.
