High school scoreboard: Gainesville girls golf team edges Buford

The Gainesville girls golf team beat Buford 157-165 Wednesday at the Bears Best in Suwanee. Vivian Robinson, Catie Cook and Julia Ferguson carded scores for the Lady Red Elephants.

EAST HALL BOYS 4, DAWSON COUNTY 1: East Hall can finish no lower than second in Region 7-3A after its win against Dawson County in Tuesday’s region game.

The Vikings (13-4, 5-1 region) still have a chance to claim the region title and a No. 1 seed in the playoffs if North Hall defeats Greater Atlanta Christian in today’s game.

In East Hall’s win on Tuesday, Sergio Tercios and Carlos Castrejon both scored two goals apiece. East Hall faces Northwest Whitfield at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Tunnel Hill.

DAWSON COUNTY GIRLS 11, EAST HALL 0: Dawson County defeated East Hall on Tuesday.

Dawson County (13-2, 4-1 Region 7-3A) plays Union County at 5:30 p.m. today in Blairsville, while East Hall (2-13-1, 0-6 region) faces Northwest Whitfield at 5:30 p.m. Friday in Tunnel Hill.

LAKEVIEW GIRLS 1, PROVIDENCE CHRISTIAN 0: Carmen Wagner scored the game-winning goal in overtime as the Lady Lions defeated Providence Christian in Tuesday’s Region 8-1A game to clinch a No. 2 seed in the playoffs. Meredith Tucker provided the assist on the game-winner for the Lady Lions.

Lakeview Academy opens up the first round of the playoffs with a home game against Mount Vernon Presbyterian next Tuesday in Gainesville.
