High school scoreboard: Carmen Wagner racks up 5 goals, 2 assists in win for Lakeview Academy soccer

Carmen Wagner scored five goals and provided two assists as the Lakeview Academy girls soccer team beat West Hall 8-1 Thursday night at home.

Meredith Tucker pitched in two goals and a trio of assists, while freshman Ellie Kate Madonna rounded out Lakeview Academy’s scoring with her first varsity goal.

The Lady Lions (1-1) face off against Stephens County at 7 p.m. today at Lakeview Academy.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS 1, WEST HALL 1: Andrew Miller Bell’s successful penalty kick was the lone goal for the Lions in a draw Thursday night in Gainesville.

TJ Wolcott recorded 11 saves for Lakeview Academy (0-0-2), which hosts Stephens County at 5 p.m. today.

NORTH HALL BOYS 2, EAST JACKSON 0: Jairo Barrientos and Miguel Elias each notched a goal to help the Trojans break a scoreless tie at the half Thursday night.

Jackson Madonna had an assist for North Hall, which hosts Stephens County at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.


NORTH HALL GIRLS 5, MEADOWCREEK 0: The Lady Trojans cruised to a win against Meadowcreek on Thursday to improve to 2-0 this season.

Anna Montgomery defeated Pauline Ponce (6-2, 6-0) in No. 1 singles, while Lauren Davis topped Tranf Vo (6-0, 6-0) in No. 2 singles. Christen Barnes completed the singles sweep for North Hall by beating Jackie Cabrera (6-0, 6-0).

Sydney Patterson and Raquel Kallab knocked off Rosalind Chen and Nicky Vuong (6-0, 6-0) in No. 1 doubles, and the pair of Ella Oxley and Carsen Baumgardner defeated Ashley Duong and Crystal Reyes (6-0, 6-0) in No. 2 doubles.

The Lady Trojans travel to Blessed Trinity on Feb. 23.

BUFORD BOYS 5, PROVIDENCE CHRISTIAN 0: Dalton Counts dominated his No. 2 singles match (6-0, 6-0) for the Wolves with a straight-set victory, and the hosts went on to sweep all lines on Thursday at Buford High.

Brady Todd won in No. 1 singles (6-0, 6-1), while the No. 3 singles match went to Cameron DeLoach (6-4, 6-4).

Trent Milton and Alex Pruitt took No. 1 doubles (6-4, 6-1). Cole Tarleton and Kurt Knudsen won No. 2 doubles (6-0, 6-3).

With the win, Buford improves to 3-2 this season.
