Big game

Nov. 9 at Fannin County

East Hall figures to be firmly in the conversation for one of the top four spots in the region. While it may not find itself at No. 1 or 2, the third or fourth seed should be within reason.

In a region filled with a number of teams on fairly equal footing, a playoff spot could be on the line for the Vikings in their final week. A win against Fannin County could get East Hall over the hump.

Fast facts

Schedule

Location: Gainesville
Coach: Bryan Gray, 11-39 at East Hall; 11-39 overall
Region: 7-AAA
Last region title: 1987, 8-AA
Last playoff appearance: 2005
Returning starters: 6 on offense, 8 on defense
Offensive strategy: Spread option; “It gives us the ability to run the ball at all times. If you get a kid that can pass well, that’s an option too. It’s flexible and allows playmakers to make plays.”
Defensive strategy: Multiple front; “You can do different things out of an aggressive multiple front. We play in a run-heavy region, so we like to get more guys on the line.”
