College scoreboard: North Georgia's McCrary pitches three-hit shutout against Augusta University

University of North Georgia left-handed pitcher Daniel McCrary, a Lumpkin County High graduate, threw 7 1/3 innings of three-hit ball in a 1-0 win against Augusta University of Saturday in Dahlonega.

McCrary’s only three singles allowed were balls on the ground through the infield. He’s now 5-1 on the season with a 1.98 ERA.

Steven Tomlinson drove in the only run with a fourth-inning single, scoring Michael Gouge from second base.

Anthony Carco and Andres Perez each had two hits for the third-ranked Nighthawks (20-4). On Sunday, North Georgia hosts Augusta University for the series finale at 1 p.m. in Dahlonega.
