Erwin Dan and Janice Erwin of Cornelia celebrated their 50th anniversary on Nov. 15, 2008. A surprise party given by their family was held at the home of David and Dawn Moore of Marietta. To celebrate, they took a trip to New England during the fall foliage season.

Abercrombie James and Geneva Abercrombie of Oakwood celebrated their 50th anniversary on Nov. 8, 2008. The couple celebrated with a trip to North Carolina and Tennessee, which included a train ride around the mountains. They said they made it through these hardships because their relationship and love was enough to keep them together for 50 years. The couple have two children, five grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
