UNG to offer doctorate in criminal justice

Douglas Orr will take over as Assistant Department Head of the Criminal Justice Department at the University of North Georgia. Dr. Orr holds membership in the Police Executive Research Forum, Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, the American Society of Criminologists and the Homicide Research Working Group (HRWG). The University of North Georgia made a major stride this month with the approval of its first Ph.D. program. The University System of Georgia voted to approve a criminal justice Ph.D. with a focus in intelligence at UNG during a board of regents meeting on May 12. The first cohort of the program will begin classes in the fall of 2021.
