The Piedmont College baseball team will play Lynchburg College in the first round of the South Regional Baseball Championship of the NCAA Division-III Baseball Championship at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Daniel Park in Danville, Va.
The game marks the first NCAA baseball playoff appearance for the third-seeded Lions and seventh among all Piedmont sports teams.
The South Regional Baseball Championship is one of eight first-round sites in the championship.
The winners at each site will qualify for the double-elimination championship on May 23-27 at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton, Wisconsin.
