Park Hill Drive convenience store robbed

Gainesville police are looking for a man who robbed a convenience store on Park Hill Drive this morning.

The clerk at the Kangaroo Convenience Store at 1680 Park Hill Drive told police the suspect entered the store, pulled a gun and demanded money from the cash registere. The clerk handed over the money, and the suspect ran from the store.

The clerk, who was the only person in the store, was not injured. Police don't know how much money was taken.

Officers deployed a police K-9 unit in an attempt to track the suspect. Police believe he ran to the area around Ridgecrest Apartments on Roper Hill Road, but they have been unable to locate him.

The suspect is described as a black male in his early 20s, approximately 5-foot-2-inches tall, weighing 130 to 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark colored pants, dark shoes and a dark mask. He is still considered to be armed with a handgun.
