Visitors to the North Georgia Home Show on Friday heard tips from HGTV’s Chip Wade and browsed numerous booths showcasing home and other products.

Put on by The Times and Metro Market Media Events, the North Georgia Home Show continues 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 26 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 27 at Lanier Tech’s Ramsey Conference Center in Gainesville. Tickets are $6 and children 12 and under are free.

The home show features local home improvement businesses like 5 Star Painting, All South Rain Solutions, Bath Fitters, Concrete Resurfacing Products, Gainesville Mechanical,  Southern Remodeling, Taylor Construction and many others.

North Georgia Home Show 

When: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 25-26 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 27 

Where: Lanier Technical College Ramsey Conference Center, 2535 Lanier Tech Drive, Gainesville

How much: Tickets are $6 and children 12 and under are free.

The event was kicked off Friday morning by the Gainesville High School’s Big Red Machine marching band. 

But the star of the show is Wade of Wade Works Creative, who is presenting each day. Wade Works Creative is an architecture, design, real estate and production company led by Emmy-winning host and executive producer of “Elbow Room,” Chip Wade.

Wade has also worked on HGTV’s “Designed to Sell” and has appeared on shows like “Curb Appeal: The Block,” “Ellen’s Design Challenge,” “Showdown,” “Design Star,” “Wise Buys,” “Oprah” and CNN.

"We're really excited about the Home Show because it is something that is totally new to our area,” said Norman Baggs, general manager of Metro Market Media. “We have a great lineup of vendors and experts who will be able to address everything from major renovations to smaller do-it-yourself projects. The Lanier Tech facility offers a lot of space for exhibitions and demonstrations, there's plenty of parking and we have all sorts of entertainment and special events lined up.”
