Hall County 4-H Horse Club members Haley Woodard and Kristy Barrett recently competed at the Georgia Mountain Association of Saddle Clubs show. Woodard received the title of Queen and Barrett received the title of Princess in the competition. To win the title of Queen or Princess, a rider must receive the overall highest scores in their respective horsemanship class. The Princess class is for ages 12 and younger. The Queen class is for ages 13 to 19. The titles Woodard and Barrett received qualify them to compete at the Georgia Federation of Saddle Clubs show in Perry, which will take ...

Young Harris College honored lifelong Gainesville resident Lillie Mae Green at a dedication ceremony on July 24, naming the first-floor common area of the college's newest residence hall, Enotah Hall, the "Green Family Lobby." Green, widow of the late Frank Green, founded Green's Grocery Store with her husband in Gainesville, where they both worked for many years.

Newcomers Club provides homemade treats for Gainesville Police

The Gainesville Newcomers Club recently gave the Gainesville Police finger food and other varieties of homemade dishes to show appreciation for their dedication to the community.
