The following students were named to the fall 2011 dean's list at Armstrong Atlantic State University. In order to make the dean's list, students must be enrolled in at least nine semester hours of course work and earn a grade point average of at least 3.6.

Students graduating Summa Cum Laude have a collective GPA of 3.90 to 4.0. Students graduating Magna Cum Laude have a collective GPA of 3.70 to 3.89. Students graduating Cum Laude have a collective GPA of 3.50 to 3.69.

Thuy Hanh and Stefanie Darby. Thuy Hanh Tran won a silver medal and an honorable mention at the Georgia Scholastic Art Competition at Georgia State, while Stefanie Darby won a silver medal. There were overmore than 2,500 artworks submitted.

The Gainesville High School Varsity Academic Team won the North Georgia Academic championship in a sudden death final question against South Forsyth High School. In so doing, the team defeated Stephens County, Franklin County, Lambert, Habersham Central, West Forsyth, White County, North Forsyth, Flowery Branch, Dawson County, Lumpkin County, West Hall, Pickens, Chestatee, Gilmer and South Forsyth. These high schools represented the school finalists in the North Georgia six regions.
