Gainesville State College held its summer/fall Commencement on Dec. 12 at the Gainesville Campus, awarding 470 two- and four-year degrees. Betty Siegel, president emeritus of Kennesaw State University, gave the Commencement Address.

The Rotary Club of South Hall County was recently recognized as one of the leading clubs in the district, winning the Governor's Service and Leadership Award at the 2010 Rotary District 6910 Conference.
