Lawson

Naomi and Lee Lawson of Gainesville celebrated their 51st anniversary on Aug. 31, 2008. Naomi and Lee have served their church, McEver Road Baptist Church, faithfully for many years. The couple have a son, Glenn Lawson, who is a teacher and a daughter, Jane Lawson, who is a missionary nurse in Africa. They have two grandchildren.

A reception held in their honor at Mount Gilead Fellowship Church was given by their children David and Fran Wasson, Randy and Jan Brown, Pat and Stevie Walden and Randall and Cindy Barnes and their grandchildren Brooke and Matt Smith, Josh and Megan Walden, Kayla Walden, Haileigh and Holden Brown and Carmen Wilkins.

Claudia and Gene Clark of Gillsville celebrated their 64th anniversary on Sept. 8, 2008. Their daughter said their love and devotion to each other, their family and especially the Lord has been an ongoing example to everyone they know. The couple have three children, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Glenn and Virginia Waldrip of Gainesville celebrated their 50th anniversary on July 18, 2008. The couple and their family celebrated with a trip to Pigeon Forge, Tenn. The couple have two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Brian Young of Gainesville and Gina and Mike Cook of Roswell, and four grandchildren Hannah and Hunter Young and Cooper and Chandler Cook.

Philip and Ruby Cagle of Gainesville celebrated their 50th anniversary on Aug. 9, 2008. A reception held in their honor at Cornerstone Assembly of God in Flowery Branch was given by their son Randy and their grandchildren Andy and Brittany Cagle.

Ralph and Yvonne Simmons celebrated their 50th anniversary on Aug. 17, 2008. They celebrated their anniversary and the birth of their seventh grandchild with their family at their favorite restaurant. The couple have four children, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

To celebrate their anniversary their son Don, daughter-in-law Susan and their grandson Kirk gave them a cruise to Bermuda. Don and Joan have lived in Toccoa most of their lives and are members of Sunnyside Baptist Church.
