The following are among the food service establishments inspected from Nov. 16-19 by the Hall County Health Department. The department scores on a 100-percentile scale, with 85 and above considered passing. Kitchens are inspected at least every six months and are required to post their score sheets in public. The following are among the food service establishments inspected from Jan. 16-25 by the Hall County Environmental Health Department. New rules and regulations for food service began on Dec. 1. Food service establishments will now be given a letter grade that coincides with a percentile: "A" (90-100), "B" (80-89), "C" (70-79), "U" 69 and below. The frequency of a restaurant's inspections will be based on risk categorization, based on the menu items served, the food preparation processed performed and the previous food safety history in the food service establishment.
The Georgia Department of Labor reports that the unemployment rate in the Georgia Mountains area remained unchanged at 3.9 percent from September to October. However, the rate for Hall County rose to 3.7 percent in October, up 0.1 percent from 3.6 percent in September.
