G-Braves top Scranton, 3-1
Diory Hernandez drove in Joe Thurston on a triple for the go-ahead run in the ninth inning for the Gwinnett Braves in a 3-1 win against the Scranton -Wilkes Barre Yankees on Wednesday at PNC Park in Scranton, Penn. Later in the inning, Brandon Hicks drove in Hernandez.
Porsche to unveil new car at Petite LeMans
The American Le Mans Series announced Wednesday that Porsche's innovative 911 GT3 R Hybrid race car will race for the first time in North America at the Petit Le Mans finale event on October 2 at Road Atlanta.
Local 4-H horse club takes home prizes
Members of the Hall County 4-H Horse Club recently competed at the State 4-H show in Perry. The state show was a qualifier for the 4-H Southern Regional Horse Show next week in Clemson, S.C., and six Hall County club members qualified for the event.

The Gwinnett Braves lost to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees, 6-1, on Tuesday at PNC Field. Todd Redmond took the loss, dropping his season record to 8-9 after six innings of work. Gwinnett (44-53) remains in last place in the International League South, while Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (57-40) is in first place in the IL North.
