Gainesville's Public Utilities Department plans to move forward on a new meter reading system that won't require meter readers to log miles in city vehicles to find out how much water customers used each month.
As the legal battle continues over the fate of Bethel Park, officials on one side of the bitter divide are attempting to clear up what they say are some of the main misconceptions that form the basis of the opposition. Their opponents aren't convinced and the matter has moved to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.

There's a chance of more snow late tonight in the Gainesville area, with the possibility of up to 2 more inches to fall.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for much of North Georgia, including Gainesville. The weather service says about one inch of snow could fall overnight north of a line from Columbus to Jackson to Washington. Up to another inch could fall Monday.
Turnout at the Hall County Government Family Health Center, which serves county employees, has been strong in the first five months of operation, according to county officials, and plans are in the works to generate more interest and participation.
