The number of drownings in Lake Lanier during the holiday weekend rose to four this morning with the discovery of the bodies of two Alpharetta men who drowned late Saturday when their pontoon boat wrecked in Forsyth County.

Sunday stabbing leaves 2 men in critical condition

Two men were in critical condition Sunday after being stabbed early in the day on Lee Street in Gainesville, according to the Gainesville Police Department.

Officers found two men who had been stabbed at a residence in the 300 block shortly before 3 a.m., Lt. John Robertson said.
