Industry owner moves on after losing bid for Gainesville contract

Bruce Mistarz started making industrial electrical connectors in his kitchen oven in Illinois 20 years ago. Since then, he has consistently found himself in a building that becomes too small for his growing operation.

Mistarz, owner of Mencom Corp., brought part of his Illinois-based industry to Gainesville 12 years ago, and has since outgrown three buildings.

East Hall Community Center holds open house
