Man struck and killed by train in Habersham County

Habersham County Sheriff's officials have not yet identified a man who was struck and killed by a train late Monday.

Capt. Rick Salemi said a white male was struck by a Norfolk Southern train on tracks near Garland White Road in Alto about 10 p.m. Monday. The train stopped after hitting the man.

Race into a Wicked Weekend

Friday was an open practice day for The Wicked Weekend remote-controlled racing event at Chicopee Woods Agricultural Center in Gainesville to get drivers used to the track with qualifying beginning today and the final day of racing beginning at 8 a.m. Sunday.
