Dietrich wins national honor

Georgia Tech shortstop Derek Dietrich and Miami starting pitcher Chris Hernandez were named to the Pro-Line Athletic National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's Freshman Hitter and Pitcher of the Year on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets shortstop hit.332 with 14 home runs and 66 RBIs this season. The Ohio native was named the All-ACC second team shortstop after leading all ACC freshmen in home runs, RBI and total bases.
