Tech's new plan: Just beat Duke

ATLANTA - Georgia Tech's loss to Virginia Tech last week dropped the Yellow Jackets one spot above last place in the ACC's Coastal Division, where sits a reminder that things could be worse.

The loss to Virginia Tech was bad. On Saturday Georgia Tech will visit last-place Duke, which has lost 23 straight Atlantic Coast Conference games.

Loss of stars no big deal to Yellow Jackets

ATLANTA - Lewis Clinch has a lot to make up for, just like his team.

The junior guard led Georgia Tech in scoring through the first 10 games last season, then was suspended for violating the school's academic honor code. All he could was watch the rest of the way, learning a valuable lesson about staying on top of his studies and not looking for shortcuts.

Choice may be ready to play against Hokies

ATLANTA - Initial fears that Tashard Choice may have suffered a season-ending injury on Saturday disappeared on Tuesday when arthroscopic surgery revealed no serious damage to the cartilage in his right knee.

Choice, the Georgia Tech senior and the Atlantic Coast Conference's leading rusher, is not expected to play on Nov. 1 against Virginia Tech, but that may be the only game he misses, according to coach Chan Gailey.

Choice's MRI will clarify scope of injury

ATLANTA - Georgia Tech coach Chan Gailey still has some wishful thinking after team-leading rusher Tashard Choice injured his right knee in Saturday's game against Army.

Gailey said Choice will have an MRI exam on today. Gailey added that there should hopefully be more clarity on the injury by the late afternoon or on Tuesday.
