ATHENS - Two Georgia players were suspended for the team's season-opening game against Georgia Southern following their arrests on alcohol-related charges.

Defensive back Donavon Baldwin and fullback Fred Munzenmaier were booked into the Clarke County Jail early Sunday.

ATHENS - Tasha Humphrey scored a season-high 25 points and No. 12 Georgia snapped out of its recent malaise with a 71-53 victory over Alabama on Sunday.

Humphrey, a graduate of Gainesville High School, hit on 10-of-13 shots from the floor, including a first-half layup to push her over 2,000 points for her career.

Georgia women: Darrah's 19 leads Lady Dogs

ATHENS - In 75 seconds, Ole Miss guard Shantell Black almost single-handedly wiped out a double-digit deficit.

Black scored nine straight points early in the second half as the upstart Lady Rebels threatened. But after a timeout by Georgia, the No. 10 Lady Bulldogs took charge again and finished with a 75-62 win Thursday night in the Southeastern Conference opener for both teams.
