Falcons sign second round pick

The Atlanta Falcons signed second round (37th overall) draft pick, linebacker Curtis Lofton Friday to a four-year contract. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Lofton, 6-foot-0, 248 pounds, logged 197 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, three interceptions and one sack in three seasons at the University of Oklahoma. His 157 tackles in 2007 tied for the seventh-best season total in school history and were the most by a Sooner since 1979. Getting to Know: Robert James

At 16-years-old, Robert James was an unhappy cornerback at Maryvale High School in Glendale, Ariz.. In fact, he was so disgruntled he almost walked away from the game during his junior year. But eventually he learned to embrace the defensive side of the ball, and sticking with it has paid off.
