Glavine happy to be back 'on this side again'

ATLANTA - Tom Glavine stepped into the Atlanta Braves' clubhouse Friday and felt right at home.

"I walked though the door and it's like, oh yeah, I'm on this side again," he said. "I'll have that from time to time, but I think it will go away. I think it will go away quickly.

Wren: Hampton ready for another try

ATLANTA - Mike Hampton, who hasn't pitched in a major league game since 2005, is expected to be ready for the start of spring training as he continues his comeback from two elbow surgeries and a hamstring injury.

Hampton has to show he is healthy. It is too early to list the left-hander among the Atlanta Braves' projected starters as pitching coach Roger McDowell's conditioning camp begins Friday at Turner Field, two weeks before the start of spring training.

ATLANTA - Eleven former Atlanta Braves were named on the Mitchell Report list of Major League Baseball players connected to steroids, including former All-Star David Justice.

Gary Sheffield, Wally Joyner and Ken Caminiti were other All-Star players on the list, although Joyner was with Atlanta for just one season late in his career and Caminiti for only 64 games in 2001.
