Lake Lanier fishing report: Spring patterns begin to show

Water temperatures are about 10 degrees below normal for this time of year and remain around 50 degrees. The lake level is looking very good at 1,069.5 or 1 1/2 feet below full pool. We are only one hard rain away from being completely full. The main lake water is clear down lake and stained up lake. The lower lake creeks are clear in the mouths and stained in the backs, and the upper lake creeks and rivers are stained. The Chattahoochee River below Buford dam is clear.

Lake Lanier Fishing Report: Fishing affected by weather patterns

Water temperatures have struggled to rise over 50 degrees, but we are registering some low 50 degree water in the afternoons. The lake level is very healthy and is up again at 1,068.56 or 2.44 feet below a full pool of 1,071. The main lake water is clear down lake and stained up lake. The lower lake creeks are clear in the mouths and stained in the backs and the upper lake creeks. The rivers are stained. The Chattahoochee River below Buford dam is clear.

Lake Lanier Fishing Report: Bass hungry this time of year

Water temperatures continue to hold at around 50 degrees with some slightly warmer water in the coves. The lake level has risen again this past week and is very close to full pool of 1,071 at 1,068.08 or 2.98 feet below a full pool. The main lake water is clear down lake and stained up lake. The lower lake creeks are clear in the mouths and stained in the backs and the upper lake creeks and rivers are very stained. The Chattahoochee River below Buford dam is clear.

Water temperatures are around 50 degrees, but look for the water to warm with next week's forecast. The lake level is up again and is at 1,067.38 feet or 3.62 feet below a full pool of 1,071. The main lake water is clear down lake and stained up lake. The lower lake creeks are clear in the mouths and stained in the backs and the upper lake creeks. The rivers are very stained. The Chattahoochee River below Buford Dam is clear.

Water temperatures continue to hover around the 50-degree mark. The lake level is 1,066.79 feet, or 4.21 feet down and rising as it continues to track towards a full pool of 1,071. The main lake water is clear down lake and stained up lake. The lower lake creeks are clear in the mouths and stained in the backs and the upper lake creeks and rivers are very stained. Lake Lanier Fishing Report: Bass found deep and wide

Water temperatures have fluctuated this past week but are averaging around 50 degrees. The lake level continues to come up and is at 1064 feet, or seven feet below the full pool of 1071. More rains are forecast for the next week and I believe we could come up to full pool by March if all goes well. The main lake water is clear and the creeks and rivers are stained to muddy in the backs. The Chattahoochee River below Buford Dam is clear.

Water temperatures are right around 50 degrees. The lake level has risen considerably in the last month and is at 1,063.14 or 7.86 below a full pool of 1,071. It will be a little higher by the time you read this article as the recent storms run off enters the lake. The main lake water is clearer down lake and stained to the north, and the creeks and rivers are stained to muddy in the backs. The Chattahoochee River below Buford Dam is clear.

Water temperatures have fallen into the low 50s. The Corps has decreased water releases while the rainfall remains steady, which is good news. The lake level has actually risen more than a foot and is at 1,057.55 or 13.45 below a full pool of 1,071 and still rising. The main lake water is clear to stained, and the creeks and rivers are stained in the mouths and very stained to muddy in the backs from recent rains. The Chattahoochee River below Buford Dam is stained.

Lake Lanier Fishing Report: Plenty of fish in shallow waters

The amount of rain fall has brought the lake level up again. Lake Lanier's water level is 1,072.03 feet or 1.02 foot above a full pool of 1,071 feet. Main lake temperatures are in the mid-50's to the lower 60's. The main lake is clear to stained, while the rivers and creeks are very stained from pollen and recent rains. The Chattahoochee River is clear below Buford Dam. Check generation schedules before heading out to the river by calling 770-945-1466.
