Franklin County running back Jay Moon put the game away in the fourth quarter with a 45-yard touchdown run. The Lions also scored on an interception returned for a touchdown in the first quarter.

High school roundup: Buford football cruises in Texas Gridiron Classic

The Buford High football team, ranked No. 1 in Class AA, jumped to a 28-7 lead in the second quarter and cruised to a 42-21 win against Mansfield-Timberview High (Texas) Saturday in the Texas Gridiron Classic at Texas Stadium in Dallas. Storm Johnson, a junior, had touchdown runs of 74, 15 and 2 yards for the defending Class AA state champion Wolves.

Cody Getz, a senior, added touchdown runs of 4 and 5 yards, and returned a punt 38 yards for a touchdown. Buford senior quarterback Michael May finished 6 of 7 passing for 54 yards.
