Starting pitcher Trevor Roof got Flowery Branch off to an ideal start in Region 8-AAAAA. On Monday, he needed just 45 pitches for the Falcons (6-1, 1-0) to take down Cedar Shoals 15-0 in three innings at the Hog Mountain Sports Complex.

The fourth annual North Georgia Classic All-Star basketball game is scheduled for Saturday March 28 at Gainesville High. The day begins with a 3-point contest at 1 p.m., slam dunk contest at 2 p.m., girls game at 3 p.m., followed by the boys' game.
