DAWSONVILLE - Riverside Military Academy coach Chris Lancaster could appreciate the significance of its 33-0 win over Dawson County just as much, maybe even more, than his players. Lancaster, also a graduate of RMA, understands the rocky road the program has faced in its football history.
Chestatee junior Ben Souther ran for 177 yards to eclipse the 1,500-yard mark for the season, broke the school single-season rushing record, and scored three touchdowns, but it still wasn't enough as the War Eagles (4-6, 3-3 Region 7A-AAA) were routed 69-35 by Creekview (6-4, 5-1).

CLEVELAND -- An emotional night that began with playoff implications and ended with 14 seniors playing their final high school football game wasn't enough to keep White County High from finishing strong, capping its season with a 40-0 win over Gilmer on Friday night.
Riverside Military Academy senior Adrian Quinones has a peace of mind about his team's playoff chances, even though the Eagles (6-3, 5-3 Region 8-AA) are still on the postseason bubble. Quinones is under the impression that the Eagles are in the playoffs if they win against Dawson County (3-6, 2-6) tonight.
Michael Jordan would not have had dual three-peats without John Paxson and Steve Kerr. Ryan Howard's Phillies' World Series title might not have come to fruition without Joe Blanton's home run. And Michael Phelps would have seven golds and one silver if not for Jason Lezak.
At the end of week 10 the Hall County football teams have created the following power ratings. As the season goes on I take into consideration the following criteria: 1) Head to head competitions; 2) win/loss record; 3) ratio of points scored against points allowed; 4) opponents win/loss percentage.

Banks County High running back Justin Beasley may not attract scouts from big Division I schools or have five stars next to his profile on recruiting web sites, but what he has done for the Leopards this year has made him a big name among Region 8-AA football teams.
Flowery Branch's Jake Shewbert added to his strong performance at the Georgia Olympics, earning a fourth-place spot in the 3200 race with a time of 9 minutes, 44.1 seconds at Jefferson Memorial. Joining him in the race for the Falcons, Grant O'Callaghan was ninth (9:53.29).
DAHLONEGA - Blessed Trinity proved to be a little too much for a young Lumpkin County team to handle Tuesday night at the Burial Grounds. The previously unbeaten Lady Indians fell 4-0 to the Lady Titans in the GHSA Class AAA girls soccer semifinals.
