Souther’s running, stiff defense spark Chestatee, 19-7

DAHLONEGA - Coming into Friday night's game with Chestatee, Lumpkin County's defense was yielding an average of fewer than 200 yards of total offense to its first four opponents.

However, Ben Souther and the Chestatee offense weren't going to be slowed down by the Indians' efforts, and the War Eagles plowed their way to a 19-7 victory.

No surprise atop high school power ratings

Last week, I thought everyday about driving over to Canton to watch North Hall and Creekview. I saw Creekview upset Flowery Branch with the well executed Wing-T offense, and yet I have been watching Bob Christmas coach North Hall teams for eight years and the Wing-T offense for more than 50 years. I had a gut feeling that the game would be a coaching gem.
