Lakeview Academy's baseball season is falling in to place nicely. The Lions (19-1, 12-0 Region 8-A) moved one step closer to the region title with their 15-4 victory against Athens Academy on Tuesday in Gainesville. Lakeview can secure the region title with wins against Athens Christian and Commerce later this week.
With its 8-4 win against Gainesville on Monday, North Hall accomplished two things: The Trojans (11-10, 11-8 Region 7-AAA) earned a split in the season series against Gainesville, and they left the Red Elephants (11-9, 11-8) clinging to slim hopes of making the playoffs.

Gainesville High senior Spencer Ralston earned second place, behind a strong third-round 67, at the Georgia Junior Championship on Wednesday in Augusta. Ralston, the Class AAAAA Golfer of the Year, finished the 54-hole, three-day outing with a total score of 8-under (208).
Spencer Adams is not going to let the projections of his talent interfere with his preparation. The first-year minor league right-handed pitcher for Single-A Kannapolis Intimidators of the White Sox organization said he's going to continue to show up to the ballpark every day with one goal in mind: What do I have to do to get better?
