Flowery Branch rolls in North Fall Classic

It's pretty simple to figure out why the Flowery Branch High softball team was so successful against North Hall on Saturday in the North Fall Classic at North Hall. In each inning, the lead-off hitter started the inning with a hit and came around to score for the Lady Falcons (15-11) as they went on to win 8-0 in five innings.

Clausen: Second half keeps Big Red on top

At the end of Week 3 the Hall County football players have created the following power ratings. As the season goes on, I take into consideration the following criteria: 1) head to head competitions; 2) win/loss record; 3) ratio of points scored vs. points allowed; 4) opponents win/loss percentage. This week I rated the teams on the ratio of points scored against points allowed.

Football Player of the Week: Chestatee's Ben Souther

Chestatee High running back Ben Souther has big shoes to fill, if tradition holds steady in the War Eagle football program. Playing in an option-based offense, the War Eagles' running backs will get plenty of chances to show what they can do with the ball.

Souther, a junior, looks to become the third installment in Chestatee's history of successful running backs.
